Wealth Inequality

Most of us could use a do over on our finances. A lack of savings has us living check-to-check and making poor financial decisions.  As a result, our credit suffers but the rating systems don’t consider real life situations.    Depending on where we live, many of us rely on check cashing stores and predatory lenders for basic financial services. The truth is, half of Americans aren’t able to cover an unexpected expense of $500.  For Black & Brown families in particular, the average wealth for our community is over 10x less than white families. We need a new financial system to close the wealth gap in communities of color.
