Every community has its own story — and in Harbor City, Los Angeles, that story is one of resilience, pride, and determination.  We were honored to join with Citi and Project Access to host the third On Our Block by MoCaFi activation, creating space for families and neighbors to learn and grow together.

Over the course of the day, residents explored how rent reporting can transform rent  payments into credit-building power, gaining knowledge and confidence to shape their  financial futures and pursue long-term stability, including the dream of homeownership.

 What We Experienced Together

  • Credit Building and Financial Education Workshop: As part of Citi’s Affordable  Housing Resident Initiative to connect affordable housing residents with access to rent reporting, banking services, credit education and more, Citi led an engaging financial education session. The session covered credit building, why  it matters, and how rent reporting can become a foundation for stronger financial health.

  • Community Resources & Support:  Project Access provided guidance on local services and programs designed to help families build stability and opportunity across education, employment, and financial readiness.
  • Family and Community Connection: The activation also offered space to celebrate the neighborhood, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that make community support possible

    Why This Matters

When residents have access to the right information, tools, and partnerships, financial empowerment becomes real and achievable. A stronger credit profile can reduce financial stress, open doors to better housing options, and help residents move toward long-term goals like homeownership and generational wealth.
